The ingredients needed to make Dry Ghanaian Doughnuts:

  2. Make ready 1/2 cup - sugar
  3. Make ready Pinch baking powder
  4. Prepare Pinch salt
  5. Prepare 1 tbsps - yeast
  6. Take 1 tbsps - butter
  7. Take 1 - egg
  8. Make ready 1 1/4 cups - lukewarm water

Instructions to make Dry Ghanaian Doughnuts:
  1. In a clean bowl, sieve all the dry ingredients with the exception of butter.
  2. Mix everything together with clean hands.
  3. In a separate bowl break the eggs into the lukewarm water and whisk until fully combined.
  4. Slowly add to the dry ingredients and keep mixing until well combined and form a ball with the dough.
  5. Paste the butter to the dough and continue kneading to achieve a glossy, smooth and shiny dough.
  6. Transfer the dough to a clean, floured surface and knead it with the heel of your palm (always pushing the dough away from you) for about 5-10 minutes.
  7. Divide the dough roll them out into 12 even balls.
  8. And spred the balls on a clean floured tray and apply melted butter or oil on top of each ball using tissue paper or brush.
  9. Cover it with a clean cloth and leave it to rise in a warm place for an hour or 2.
  10. Once your dough balls are risen to twice their size, pour oil into a frying pan and place on a medium heat.
  11. Add the doughnuts to the oil and constantly turn the doughnuts for an even cook.
  12. Once browned use a slotted ladle and remove the doughnuts into a colander.
