The ingredients needed to make Crockpot (or not) General Tso's Chicken:
  1. Make ready 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast
  2. Prepare 3 garlic cloves minced
  3. Get 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
  4. Take 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  5. Prepare 2 tbsp ketchup
  6. Prepare 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  7. Take 3 tbsp brown sugar
  8. Get 1/2 cup teriaki glaze
  9. Prepare 1/4 tsp black pepper
  10. Make ready 3/4 cup corn starch
  11. Make ready 1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  12. Make ready 1 tsp sesame oil
  13. Take Sesame seeds and green onion for garnish

Instructions to make Crockpot (or not) General Tso's Chicken:
  1. Cut chicken into bite sized pieces and toss in corn starch and black pepper. I use a large ziplock bag.
  2. Brown in skillit for a few minutes.
  3. IN CROCKPOT: Move chicken to crockpot. Mix all other ingredients and pour over chicken. Let cook on low 3-4 hours on high 2-3 hours.
  4. When there is a half hour left of cooking, mix 2 tbsp of corn starch and 3 tbsp of water and add to crockpot to thicken sauce.
  5. STOVETOP: finish cooking the chicken in the skillet while you mix all other ingredients(omit the corn starch and water)in a pot and bring it to a boil. Add the sauce in the skillit when the chicken is done. simmer untill sauce is thick.
  6. Sprinkle with green onion and sesame seeds for garnish and serve over rice, or with a side of steamed broccoli.
