Gajar Halwa or carrot halwa is a gluten-free classic Indian dessert made with - grated carrots, khoya Khoya/Mawa - Khoa is a popular form of evaporated milk used in the Indian subcontinent. Gajar Halwa is made in north India only during winters. The reason is that it is made using the fresh red carrots that we get in winters in Delhi. Instructions to make Mawa gajar halwa:
  1. First of all assemble all the ingredients.
  2. Heat a kadai and add ghee in it.
  3. Then add grated carrot and saute it and cover it for sometime.
  4. Add milk in it and mix it well.
  5. Add maws, sugar, chopped dry fruits and atlast the cardamom powder in it.
  6. Cook it till they absorb all the milk and become dry. Now your Halwa is ready.
  7. Serve hot by garnishing some pistachios and cashew on it.
